Tri-Band Pocket Buddy
Track24 recently launched its new Tri-Band Pocket Buddy. The device is small enough to be concealed in a pocket and capable of working on GSM networks throughout the world.
The Pocket buddy is a compact, lightweight personal tracking device ideal for employees or dependents travelling or working in higher-risk environments. The device uses the GSM and GPRS networks to communicate with the Track24 C4i Web platform, where its position and status can be monitored on digital mapping.
The New Pocket Buddy operates on three GSM frequency bands: 900, 1800 and 1900MHz, making it suitable for most countries in the world. This now means that on international roaming an employee could travel between Europe, Asia and North America, for example, and use the same device in each region.
An integral panic button gives the carrier the capability to send out a distress signal in the event of an incident, pinpointing their exact location. Audible and visual alerts will appear on the C4i monitoring application in an organisation's operations centre, while notification of the alarm will also be automatically forwarded by SMS and Email to relevant people. At the same time the Buddy will open a voice channel with a predefined phone number, allowing operations staff to listen in to the incident and assess the situation.
Whilst the Pocket Buddy can track at intervals of as little as one minute, continuous tracking may not always be necessary or desirable. In many cases executives simply want a means of letting people know that they are in trouble and their precise location quickly. The Pocket Buddy can be configured to meet these requirements.
