The world's press gather to road test the new Range Rover

Track24 supported Land Rover during its recent off-road event in Morocco by providing a vehicle tracking and crisis management capability for the launch of its new Range Rover and Freelander 2.

Morocco offers the perfect setting to road test Land Rover's latest products. With Morocco's rugged landscape, the principal concerns were road traffic accidents or drivers simply getting lost. The all-terrain vehicles were put through their paces crossing sand dunes and rock-strewn landscape. Amongst the many obstacles encountered, a collapsed bridge - washed away in the recent storms - presented the greatest challenge. As the vehicles made a treacherous river crossing the staff in the operations room were able to track their progress.

The Armadillo hardware solution enabled Land Rover to track and monitor multiple vehicles on detailed mapping of Morocco. The satellite based tracking technology ensured that the vehicles could have true freedom of movement since there was no reliance upon local GSM cellular technology. The operations rooms were quickly set up and access to the Track24 C4i Platform was achieved through a secure online logon. With this crisis management capability in place Land Rover were able to demonstrate their new products to the world's press with peace of mind.
