Article by Track24 published in the Journal of International Peace Operations

The theme of the September-October '07 issue of the Journal of International Peace Operations was 3C: Communication, Cooperation and Coordination in Conflict, Post-Conflict and Disaster Relief Operations. As the leading provider of asset tracking and crisis management solutions to organisations in Iraq since 2003, Track24 was well placed to contribute an article on 3C in that most extreme of operational theatres.

The article - Keeping Track of Actors in the Field - underlines the significance of the ROC (Reconstruction Operations Centre) and LMCC (Logistics and Movement Control Centre) in Iraq as models of effective civi-military coordination.

Track24, having integrated its tracking solutions with the monitoring centres of the ROC and LMCC, plays an enabling role in the provision of an interface through which contractors and security companies can be monitored and, if required, receive military assistance. At the same time, the Track24 C4i platform provides organisations with their own monitoring and crisis management capability.

In concluding, the article identifies the applicability of the ROC/LMCC model in other theatres throughout the world, the main difference being that by factoring the cost of monitoring into the clients' tracking systems, the same setup can be achieved at a fraction of the cost.
